Finally an opportunity to address the excruciating back pain. I was using a cane since this all started. My back was a mess. According to the CT scans on of my vertebrate had collapsed due to being attacked by the cancer.
The procedure was minimally invasive, just a needle. They would put me “under” much like when you get a colonoscopy. Using a C arm they would insert the needle into the collapsed vertebrate and use a balloon to expand the vertebrate back into shape, then inject bone cement to hold the vertebrate back into shape.
After the procedure they held me in recovery for about an hour laying flat. I am assuming this is to let the cement start to harden before any weight could be put back on that vertebrate. I walked out under my own power back to the car and rested the rest of the day. The next day, the pain was almost completely gone.
